Synthetic Turf for Albert Park

Synthetic Turf: LESS maintenance, more play.

Albert Park VRI Lawn Bowls Club has received State Government funding to convert its St Vincent Gardens all-grass green to a water-saving tiger turf woven carpet surface.

It means bowlers will be able to play more often: synthetic turf require less maintenance and can be played on all year round.

Victorian Sports Minister James Merlino, Albert Park MP Martin Foley and Port Phillip mayor Frank O’Connor attended.

The removal of the grass green and installation of the new woven carpet surface are expected to be completed in the next two months.

The announcement was made last Tuesday at the Port Melbourne club, which also received a grant.
